Redback Tools' Maxistrike Hammer was the winner of the USA "Dealer's Pick" Most Innovative Award in conjunction with the Handyman Club of America in 2003. This helped catapult our products into the public consciousness, and helped people realise that there is a better way for DIYers to go about their work.

The inspiration for the MaxiStrike was quite simple, yet startling. Says inventor Jake Tyson: "I was sick of having to pull out my nail punch, get over rafters and getting shocks up my arm when I hit objects. I thought I could redesign it, balance it a lot better and basically develop an arc shaft so I could hit without using a nail punch. The design provides the hammer with much better balance, and also ensures that it hits the object about 50% harder than a standard hammer".

And it looks like the experts agree!
